Pre-K 4 through 3rd Grades
Students will learn the basics of the language orally, and they will complete written work in class. This will include the numbers, alphabet, colors, shapes, and the calendar. They will also learn simple vocabulary, greetings, short prayers, and songs.
4th & 5th Grades
Students will continue to learn the basics along with useful Spanish phrases expanding their oral and written vocabulary. They will learn elementary grammar rules including how to determine gender and how to make plurals. The 5th grade will begin to learn verbs and to conjugate them correctly in conversations.
6th through 8th Grades
Students will continue to expand their written and oral vocabulary. They will be exposed to more detailed grammar rules and will work with more verbs, especially the conjugation of the verb “to be” (Ser and estar). They will learn the conjugations rules of regular verbs. Students will read and translate sentences, and they will write original short sentences using the vocabularies learned in class. Students will learn to include adjectives in their daily dialogue.
